Built on a site with existing shophouses, this project aims to integrate the old and new by emphasizing the old walls. Some walls are kept in their existing state, with the rooms built away from them and circulation orientated around the wall. Other walls have been knocked down, but the foundations remain and are visible from above, a reminder of the spaces that existed in the past.
The existing shophouse facade remains, but it opens up into a full-height empty space, facing a louvered wooden box.
